Strengthening the Human Foundations of Faith

Helping People Discover, Embrace, and Live Their Unique Call from God

"Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire."
— St. Catherine of Siena

The Formation Field™ is a distinctly Catholic formation framework that employs theology, Catholic anthropology, and psychological science to strengthen the human foundations through which resilient faith, enduring vocation, flourishing Catholic life, and a lived relationship with God are formed.

Built upon the developmental movement of Received. Revealed. Returned.™, The Formation Field™ helps dioceses, parishes, schools, ministries, and families address a growing reality: many Catholics have received the faith sacramentally but have never been fully formed to receive God's love, recognize His call, and freely return that gift through their vocation, discipleship, and service.

Through two complementary pathways, Awakening Vocational Discernment and Strengthening The Domestic Church. The Formation Field™ seeks to strengthen both the person and the family; the two primary places where faith is received, lived, and transmitted..

The First Pathway

Awakening Vocational Identity

Helping Young Adults Discern Their Mission & Purpose

"The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort.

You were made for greatness."

— Pope Benedict XVI

Every human person receives a fundamental vocation: the call to relationship with God. From that primary call emerge the particular ways each person is invited to respond; through marriage, priesthood, consecrated life, dedicated single life, and the unique forms of service and mission through which their gifts are offered to the world.

Before we discover what we are called to do, we must discover who we are; beloved sons and daughters created in His image. The Formation Field™ employs a proven framework to develop identity, facilitate encounter, and enable self-gift through the three-part movement of Received | Revealed | Returned™.

The Blessed Virgin Mary reveals the fullest expression of the person's journey toward God.

In her, we see what it means to receive God's love, recognize His call, and freely return ourselves in love and service to our neighbor.

THE FIRST MOVEMENT

RECEIVED | IDENTITY

"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you."
— Luke 1:28

In Mary, we see the human person fully receiving her identity from God. Rooted in His love and free from the distortions of fear and self-reliance, she reveals what it means to live as a beloved son or daughter before the Father.

Yet many of us struggle to receive this truth. Wounds, fears, false beliefs, and disordered attachments often lead us to hide from God rather than live in the freedom of being fully known and fully loved. Human formation helps remove the obstacles that prevent this truth from taking root so that God's love can be received not merely as an idea, but as a lived reality.

THE SECOND MOVEMENT

REVEALED | ENCOUNTER

"Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word."

Luke 1:38

As the human person grows in freedom and learns to receive God's love, he becomes more capable of recognizing God's presence, hearing His voice, and discerning the unique way he is being invited to love and serve. Discernment is not primarily about choosing a path. It is about responding to the God who first says: "You are mine."

Through prayer, formation, and encounter, individuals learn to recognize the invitations God places before them and discern the unique vocation to which they are called.

At the Annunciation, Mary receives God's personal invitation and freely responds in trust. Her "yes" reveals the heart of discernment: responding to the God who first calls us by name. God's call begins with relationship.

THE THIRD MOVEMENT

RETURNED | SELF-GIFT

"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."

Luke 1:46–47

Every vocation finds its fulfillment not in what we gain, but in what we give. Through marriage, priesthood, consecrated life, dedicated single life, professional work, leadership, and service, we return God's gifts by offering our lives back to Him in love.

In the Visitation, Mary reveals what happens when God's love is fully received and His call fully embraced. Carrying Christ within her, she immediately goes forth in service, bringing His presence to another and proclaiming the greatness of the Lord.

The Second Pathway Strengthening The Domestic Church

Helping Parents Become Their Child's First Witness of God's Love

"The future of humanity passes by way of the family."

— Saint John Paul II

Parents remain the first and most influential witnesses of faith.

The Formation Field™ equips mothers and fathers to create the relational conditions through which children experience love as trustworthy, faith as believable, and God's presence as real.

Before children encounter God in doctrine, they encounter Him in relationship. Parents help form the child's earliest experience of love, belonging, mercy, forgiveness, authority, and trust.

Through workshops, cohorts, and retreats parents learn to become intentional witnesses of God's love within the home.

Built upon the developmental movement of Received. Revealed. Returned.™, these pathways help families cultivate the relational, emotional, spiritual, and developmental foundations through which parents extend the unconditional love and mercy of God so that faith is received, embodied, and lived within the home.

RECEIVED | BAPTISM

Beginning Well™ equips mothers and fathers to cultivate the relational foundations through which trust, belonging, attachment, and spiritual receptivity take root.
